Quick Start
Start a research session, review the plan, run the agent, and export the report.
Start a Research Session
Sign in to Deep Notebook and open New Research. Describe the question you want answered as a research brief. A good brief says what you are trying to decide, which sources matter, and what kind of final report would be useful.
Example:
"Research Datadog's enterprise go-to-market motion. Focus on recent earnings commentary, product strategy, partner ecosystem, competitive pressure, and signals from customer or developer communities. Return a cited investment memo with risks and open questions."
Add Context
Attach files when they should shape the answer: PDFs, spreadsheets, call notes, prior memos, exported data, or source lists. You can also choose connected sources so the researcher can inspect the apps and repositories that matter for the question.
Use domain filters when the run should stay close to specific sites. This is useful for research that must prioritize primary sources, company materials, filings, internal documents, or a defined competitor set.
Generate the Plan
Deep Notebook turns the brief into an editable research plan. The plan breaks the work into steps such as source discovery, evidence gathering, comparison, synthesis, and final report writing.
Review the plan before running it. Add missing sources, remove unnecessary steps, reorder the work, or tighten instructions. This is the control point where you make sure the research matches your intent.
Run and Monitor
Start the run when the plan looks right. Deep Notebook executes the research as a long-running agent and shows progress while it works. You can inspect activity, tool calls, source URLs, files, and intermediate notes instead of waiting on an opaque spinner.
Read and Export
When the run completes, review the final report, citations, and generated workspace files. You can copy the report, download Markdown, or export a ZIP that includes the report and files created during the run.
